Momma Mary continues to help

Momma Mary, after taking care of her own litter of four (Marky Mark, MaryLee, MaryLou and MaryLynn), she continued to nurse an orphaned litter of four, Stanley, Sting, Stanford and Suzie Q (all have been adopted!)

While still nursing the first orphan litter, she had also accepted to take on another orphan litter of two:
  Ping and Pong

She has done a fantastic job to nurse, clean, love and snuggle each kitten daily.  She had let them climb all over her and come underneath her as she eats her own food to learn to eat on their own.  She is nothing but an angel of her own.  Momma Mary came to us as a temporary foster until she finished nursing her kittens. But two days before she was to be spayed and returned to her "community" she graciously took in the orphan litters.  As she loved the kittens in her care, she continued to purr loudly to let us know she is happy and her kittens are doing well.  She did get protective over the kittens by growling, as a good mommy would do.

Momma Mary has struck a deal and will now live out her life at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, where she will be able to socialize and rest comfortably until someone is ready for her to be a part of their family.  With the right patience, tenderness and time, she will make an amazing addition to any family!  We love you Momma Mary and thank you for all the compasion and love you had shown to the six orphan kittens.  May you find your forever loving family!

Momma Mary to the Rescue

Jack, owner of a Demolition Company called Susan, an animal lover and rescuer from a job site.  He was on a "Public Nuisance" job where a hoarder had three feet of debris in the yard.  General Contractors are very good about looking through these sites very carefully for people and animals because they know that they can kill something if they are not careful.  Jack once found a homeless man living above the ceiling tiles of a building ready to be torn down and the man never heard the calls to vacate the property before the building was torn down, so he is very careful to check the site thoroughly and frequently for life.  He knows that if you do not see a nest of insects, you can get killed.  General Contractors are professionals and if you have never worked with one, you might not understand how skilled and precise and careful they are.  I stress this because I do not want anyone to think this was intentional.

They knew where a cat and some kittens were living and did not bother them.  But the mother got into the job site and was accidentally killed.  The worker was just sick about it.  Jack called Susan to tell her there were four kittens about a week old, their eyes were not even open.  She called Michael White (C5) and Darci Pfeiffer (All Fur Love), both of whom dropped everything to help.  All Fur Love just happened to have a feral cat whose babies were taken away three days ago.  Darci took the kittens into the cat, placed the container down, the cat rolled over as though she knew what was going on, then placed the kittens next to the mom cat and she immediately began licking them and allowing them to feed.

Momma Mary took to the four orphan kittens immediately - Thank you Momma Mary (who may not be that feral, just frightened)!     Please donate to help Momma Mary

Trust us - there are four black kittens under her belly!
